Bogle Phantom Red Blend

2017, California

Intriguing, beguiling…this mysterious apparition of ripe berry and relentless spice returns to haunt wine lovers. Enveloped in shadow, this wine’s intensity and concentration will entice you with every sip. Full-bodied and jammy, Phantom’s origins of Petite Sirah and Zinfandel emerge from the glass. Spicy pepper and juniper tantalize your senses, while black plums and blueberries emerge on the palate. Notes of pipe tobacco and clove settle around the finish, long and lingering, like the Delta fog.

Blend: 51.5% Petite Sirah, 48.5% Zinfandel

Dana Stemmler

Bogle

Dana Stemmler did not intend to become a winemaker when she went to college, but a trip to Italy with her aunt in 2000 piqued her interest in becoming one. To follow her dream, she transferred from the University of California, Santa Barbara, to UC Davis, where she earned a B.S. degree in Viticulture & Enology in 2005. In 2006, she accepted a position as laboratory technician at Bogle Vineyards in the Central Valley. A year later, she was promoted to enologist, and in 2010 was named assistant winemaker. After three years, Dana rose to become the associate winemaker at Bogle, and was named winemaker there in 2015.

As a winemaker, Dana champions quality in all the wines produced at Bogle. These include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, among others.
